Museo di Palazzo Davanzati

This fourteenth-century residence of Davizzi family, merchants and bankers, sets an imposing sight on the square and is the result of the amalgamation of some tower houses and other properties of the Davizzi. However, the palace took its name from another family, the Davanzati, which bought it in 1578. The front shows a large emblem representing the coat of arms of this family. It's furnished like an ancient Florentine house with objects from different ages, coming from Firenze's state museums and from private donations: pictures, pieces of furniture, sculptures, tapestries, majolica, objects of use more than an important collection of laces.
