Complesso Monumentale Orsanmichele

It is a unique and extraordinary monument that hosted civil and religious ceremonies. Built as a barn in the mid-fourteenth century, it was dedicated to Christian worship. The Museum on the first floor houses the original sculptures, works of the most famous Florentine artists from the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, which adorned the outside niches on the four sides of the imposing building made of Florentine stone. The Church, whose interior houses the magnificent marble tabernacle of Madonna delle Grazie, is still consecrated.
