One of the jewels of Florentine baroque, it is the masterpiece of the architect Giovan Battista Foggini, and it will become the seat of the new Antiquarium of the Archaeological Museum of Florence, where you can return to admire the museum of Greek and Roman statues removed after the flood of 1966. The sumptuous rooms of the house host a gallery of classical sculptures coming almost entirely from the Medicis’ collection: masterpieces like the Sleeping Arianna immortalized by Velasquez, Hellenistic and Roman portraits, sarcophagi and inscriptions are on display according to theme paths that reconstruct the sculptural furniture of some famous Uffizi rooms radically transformed in the nineteenth century, like the Tribuna or the Ricetto delle Iscrizioni.
