Area e Museo Civico Archeologico di Fiesole

The Archaeological Site is one of Italy's most fascinating archaeological parks. It includes the Roman Theatre, the Baths and the Longobard Necropolis, all set in three hectares of stunning countryside among the Tuscan hills. The Civic Museum of Archaeology, closely linked to the Archaeological Site, contains numerous items dating from protohistoric to mediaeval times, nearly all of which come from the local Fiesole area. Among the most notable – archaic Etruscan votive bronzes and a huge funerary stele in grey sandstone, marble friezes and sculptures from the Theatre and the Baths, an Etruscan votive stone from the temple of Minerva, the clay antefixae and the bronze torso of a wolf, pottery from the Attic and Magna Graecia periods from the Costantini collection.
