Fades. Matching the time

There is a time that is not measured in minutes or hours. It is the time of invisible transformations, of the breathing of plants, of the flow of water between stones, of the continuous and imperceptible change of matter. “Fades. Matching the time”, an exhibition project by the duo Simoncini.Tangi, is dedicated to this subtle and profound time.

Through immersive and site-specific installations, Dissolvenze offers a poetic reflection on the porosity of the boundaries between human beings and natural landscapes, on the interdependence between living kingdoms, on the way in which time is written in matter and in its imprints.

Water, a key element of the entire journey, is the thread that binds each work: not only as a physical substance, but as a vital principle, a form of becoming, a sensitive archive. The Arno, in particular, takes on a symbolic and concrete role: a generating river, a liquid memory of Florence, capable of sculpting, nourishing, overwhelming and returning.

Smells, sounds, reflections and beams of light build an environmental narrative in which man becomes part of the landscape, a subject observed as well as observer. Plants trace their profiles through light, impressing them on tracing paper in a “vegetal drawing” that is both form and presence.

The Taoist philosophy that inspires part of Simoncini.Tangi’s research teaches that each element is generated in relation to the other, and that transformation is the only stable form of living things.
