Una delle sale del Museo Stefano Bardini

Blue Mondays at the Stefano Bardini Museum

Fr., 09/05/2025 - 12:08

It was 1925 when the Stefano Bardini Museum opened its doors thanks to the antique dealer's bequest to the city of Florence. To celebrate its 100th anniversary, four special evenings offer an engaging and charming experience of the extraordinary value of the museum's collections.

For four consecutive Mondays (September 8, 15, 22 and 29), the museum will be exceptionally open beyond its usual opening hours, with extended hours from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM, offering visitors the opportunity to explore slowly and experience it under the special evening light.
The museum's rooms are distinguished by their blue, a particular shade of blue that was so successful that it became known worldwide as Bardini Blue and that, thanks to the careful lighting, creates a different and fascinating atmosphere in each room.
On September 8, 15 and 22 the evening openings will be enriched by an exclusive event, which will allow you to appreciate the museum thanks to the contribution of its experts.

On Monday, September 8, at 9:00 pm, a tour led by Carlo Francini, Director of the Florentine Civic Museums, will offer the opportunity to learn more not only about the masterpieces but also about the life of the museum in all its facets, including what goes on "behind the scenes".
On Monday, September 15, at 9:00 pm, it will be possible to visit the museum with Valentina Zucchi, Mediation and Promotion Director at the MUS.E Foundation. All participants, young and old, will be guided on a special tour of the collections and will have the opportunity to choose their favorite work or artifact, sharing their own perspectives and expressing their own interpretations.
On Monday, September 22, at 9:00 pm, it will be possible to delve deeper into the history and characteristics of an exceptional work from the museum, Saint Michael the Archangel Defeating the Dragon by Piero del Pollaiolo, which is currently being researched and restored thanks to the support of Friends of Florence. The evening will be hosted by Serena Pini, curator of the Civic Museums, and Muriel Vervat, the work's restorer.

Museum admission and participation in the meetings are included with the Firenzecard.
Reservation is required by email, writing to info@musefirenze.it.
