“Salvatore Ferragamo. 1898-1960”

The exhibition celebrates the founder of the maison - craftsman, entrepreneur, ahead of the times in fashion - telling us a piece of history, fashion and Made in Italy. His shoes have been worn, among others, by Rudolph Valentino, Charlie Chaplin, Sophia Loren, Marlene Dietrich, Audrey Hepburn and Ingrid Bergman. It was Salvore Ferragamo who understood, ahead of his time, how the creation of a wearable piece cannot be an event in itself, but must tell something about the wearer, as well as the craftsman. One hundred years ago Ferragamo opened his first store in Hollywood and the retrospective dedicated to him celebrates this anniversary through photographs, archive footage, writings and works of art, placed alongside his creations.
