Museo e Istituto Fiorentino di Preistoria Paolo Graziosi

The Museum contains materials on prehistoric archaeology, human palaeontology and prehistoric ecology. Located in the historic Oblate Sisters Complex, it illustrates the history of mankind from the first Stone Age until the Age of Metals by means of original objects and reproductions. The display, enriched by photographic images and text, takes us on the trail of our fascinating origins. The first room is dedicated to environmental, physical and cultural transformation during the Palaeolithic era, while the second contains works of rock art and objects from the Stone Age and the early Metal Age. It is one of Italy's most important museums of prehistory and the number one collection in Tuscany.
